SUMMARY:Židinys Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Židinys will meet February 21st at 1:00 pm at the Lithuanian Club Restaurant for their first meeting of the year.\nThe special guest at the meeting will be Clarissa (Mickevičius) Jacobson. She will present and read poetry from her published book: Baltic Amber in a Chest.\n\n\nBrief bio:\n\n\nClarissa(Mickevičius) Jakobson is a book artist\, painter\, and poet whose visual and written art is strongly inspired by her Lithuanian heritage and her family’s history during WWll. \nHer new book\, Baltic Amber in a Chest\, (Bottom Dog Press\, 2023) reflects both of these influences. She paired her visual and lyric art in the chapbooks\, The Last Stronghold\, My Lithuania:Land of Myth\, Amber and Hope\,  and Camille Claudel\, Letters from Montdevergue Asylum. \nClarissa studied art and poetry at Kent State University. Her work has been exhibited internationally as well as The Cleveland Museum of Art\, the Morgan Conservatory\, and in a one-woman exhibit at the Moose Gallery. \nClarissa’s poetry has appeared in the Hawaii Review\, Sheila-Na-Gig\, The Cleveland Scene\, and was winner of the Akron Art Museum’s New Words Competition. She lives in Aurora\, Ohio and enjoys daily walks with her husband around Sunny Lake.
